Title: Hydrodynamic Voltammetry at the Liquid/Liquid Interface: The Rotating Diffusion Cell
Abstract: Hydrodynamic voltammetry is reported at the interface between two immiscible electrolyte solutions (ITIES), using a rotating diffusion cell configuration. The voltammetry arises from laminar flow, induced in the organic and aqueous phases of the ITIES separately. The ITIES has been stabilized by a polyester (PET) track-etched membrane material. The resultant voltammetry is shown to be in accord with the Koutecký-Levich equation for limiting currents at rotating electrodes. The technique is promising for the determination of reaction mechanisms and kinetic parameters for reactions involving immiscible liquid phases.
