Title: Heterogeneity in vasomotor responses to L- and T-type calcium channel blockers
Abstract: The mechanism underlying the clinically important use of Ca++ channel blockers (CCBs) is thought to be mediated by L-type Ca++ channels. However, recent clinical evidence in patients with microvascular disease suggests that blockade of the T-type Ca++ channel has additional benefits. This study compared large and small vessels with respect to; (1) functional vasomotor responses to L- and combined L- and T-type CCBs, and (2) L- and T-channel mRNA expression.
