Title: The haemolymph and moulting in Rhodnius prolixus Stål
Abstract: Neither the changes in amino acids nor those of the proteins of the haemolymph of 5th instar Rhodnius reflect the process of moulting. Most of the haemolymph proteins are synthesized in the fat-body, some probably in the blood cells. The increase in haemolymph proteins after feeding primarily results from the increased blood volume. The failure to find changes associated with moulting is in part explained by the continuous digestion.
