Title: <title>Active Control Technology Development At NASA</title>
Abstract: The NASA's long range goal in space research and technology is to maintain a strong technology base to insure continued U.S. space leadership. Therefore a principal objective is to strengthen NASA's space R&T program to insure the timely provision of new concepts and advanced technologies for the U.S. civil and military space activities. A program is in place at NASA for the development of active control technology to support major initiatives such as space station and advanced spacecraft. A number of key control technology needs are cited as required for these and other future NASA missions together with an integrated control/structures technology flight experiment to demonstrate and validate technology for large flexible structures.
