Title: Single aplanatic homogeneous refracting waveguide lenses without field curvature
Abstract: Wave analysis of the field curvature of single aplanatic homogeneous refracting planar waveguide lenses has been carried out. It is shown that at a sufficiently high value of the relative refractive index there is an optimal lens thickness, which leads to the absence of field curvature in a certain range of angles of incidence of the input beam. Numerical calculations carried out for the lens with an f-number of 4 and a relative refractive index of 1.050 show that field curvature is absent in the range of angles of ±4° for a lens thickness of 2.05 mm.
