Abstract: A calorimeter has been constructed for the purpose of directly measuring absorbed dose in carbon, from 60Co gamma -radiation and from radiations of higher energies. The calorimetrically measured absorbed dose in carbon is used to determine the absorbed dose in water by means of a transfer ionization chamber.
