Title: A survey of 3 m emission features in stellar spectra
Abstract: Spectra between 2.9 and 4.0 µm were taken of 56 emission-line stars and stellar planetary nebulae, and of the bipolar nebulae Roberts 22, M2-9 and Mz 3. In seven (possibly eight) cases emission features were found between 3.2 and 3.6 µm. The emission features cover a broad range of wave-lengths, and have disparate band shapes, indicating that no single material is responsible in any star. The features are observed both in carbon-rich WC 10 stars and in the OH source Roberts 22. Spectra of the WC 10 stars between 1.4 and 2.4 µm also show ionic lines which are attributed to H I and C II.
