Title: Thermophysical properties of tantalum, tungsten, and tantalum-10 wt. per cent tungsten at high temperatures
Abstract: Abstract A high-temperature multi-property apparatus is briefly described. Experimental data covering the range from about 1400 ° to 2800 °K are presented for one sample of tantalum, three samples of tungsten and two samples of tantalum-10 wt.% tungsten alloy. The tungsten samples were from a batch used in a high-temperature thermal conductivity reference standards program and the tantalum-10 tungsten alloy has been incorporated in an international round-robin study. Properties measured were thermal conductivity, electrical resistivity, normal spectral emittance at 0.65 μm, hemispherical total emittance, Weidemann-Franz-Lorenz ratio and Thomson coefficient.
