Title: Effect of the Chemosterilant P, P' Bis(1-aziridinyl)-N-(3-methoxypropyl)-phosphinothioic Acid on Ribosomal RNA and Ribosomal Protein in the Eggs of House Flies12

However the maxima of the UV spectra of the ribosomes and rRNA from chemosterilized eggs differed from the maxima found for ribosomes and rRNA from normal eggs. For normal eggs the UV maxima were at 267 mµ, for ribosomes and 263 mµ, for rRNA; for chemosterilized eggs they were at 271 mµ for ribosomes and 257 mµ, for rRNA. There was also an abnormal increase in hyperchromicity of the ribosomes from chemosterilized eggs after treatment with ribonuclease.Read More
