Title: Chemical and magnetic characterization of organic ferromagnet- poly-bipo
Abstract: Poly (1,4-bis(2,2,6,6-tetramethyl-4-piperidyl-1-oxyl)-butadiin (poly-BIPO) prepared by lasting time thermal polymerization exhibits spontaneous magnetization as high as Hs=0.2 emu/g. Magnetic hysteresis was observed with residual magnetization Mr=0.025−0.05 emu/g and coercive force Hc=295–470 Oe in dependence of the conditions of the polymerization. Ferromagnetism due to transition metal impurity can be ruled out by ICP analysis. Preliminary results on discovery of a new polydiacetylene ferromagnet have been presented.
