Abstract: Abstract This article examines issues that are central to the multicultural curriculum in the United States of America. It focuses on contributions to the journal Multicultural Education, and analyses them in terms of: culture, critical theory, transformative multicultural education, white privilege and racism, anti‐bias curricula, voice or cultural and historical perspectives, cultural pluralism and instructional practice.
