Title: Calculation of Transfer Capability of Power Systems Using an Efficient Predictor-Corrector Primal-Dual Interior-Point Algorithm
Abstract: In this paper, we employ an optimization approach with continuation power flow equality constraints for investigating stationary steady state behavior of power systems. We consider varying load and generation patterns to determine real power transfer capability for power systems subject to system and network constraints. A new algorithm using the primal-dual interior point method with the predictor-corrector for determination of maximum loadability in a power system is presented in this paper. The method is new because it deals with the application of an advanced interior point method to maximum loadability problem through successive linear programming (SLP). The nonlinear maximum loadability problem is linearized and solved by a predictor-corrector interior point method. This method is applied to the IEEE14 bus system.
