Title: On the difference between the Lorentz and Ampere force laws in magnetostatics
Abstract: The author reviews the equivalence, or the difference, of the two possible force laws in magnetostatics for interacting particles: namely the Ampere and Lorentz force laws. He shows that these two laws are mathematically different and physically correct since they apply to two different systems: the former must be used for a closed system and the latter for an open system.
