Title: Energy intensity analysis for the period 1971–1984: A case study of Taiwan
Abstract: We present an application of hybrid-unit formulations of energy input-output analysis for energy-intensity variations in Taiwan from 1971 to 1984. The analytical results indicate that about 85% of the economic sectors showed remarkable downward trends in total primary energy intensity, implying effectiveness of energy-conservation measures. Furthermore, energy-policy changes have facilitated the substitution of coal for petroleum products.
