Hematol Oncol Clin North Am. 1995; 9: 961-995 PubMed Google Scholar Mycosis fungoides accounts for only half of cases of such lymphoma, and since CTCL is not synonymous with mycosis fungoides, it is not a “preferred name” for it. Furthermore, though the frequency of CTCL did increase in the late 1970s, whether the proportion of CTCL cases that were mycosis fungoides increased, decreased, or remained the same is unknown.
