Histopathological findings of autoimmune pancreatitis in Japan is marked lymphoplasmacytic infiltration with fibrosis in the pancreas (lymphoplasmacytic sclerosing pancreatitis). However, autoimmune pancreatitis with neutrophilic infiltration in the epithelium of the pancreatic duct was reported by American and Italian pathologists.
