The resultant DSB trimer with an amorphous structure in the solid state exhibits excellent thermal stability and intense blue photoluminescence. The maximum luminance approaching 4000 cd m–2 and efficiency up to 3.5 cd A–1 can be obtained in the corresponding light-emitting devices with a low turn-on voltage (∼4 V).
