Title: Natural gas and alternative fuels for engines. ICE-Volume 21
Abstract: Research, design, and evaluation activities related to fuel selection and utilization in reciprocating engines continue to be a focus for engine manufacturers and end users. Much of this work is motivated by environmental and energy resource concerns through the use of engines. Natural gas has been a primary fuel source for large stationary reciprocating engines and its application to new engine classes such as in transportation vehicles offers new challenges including issues related to development of engine technology and fueling infrastructure. Topics addressed in this symposium include development of new technologies for alternative fuel use, emissions issues for alternative fuels, and demonstration activities for alternative fuel transportation vehicles. All 11 papers have been processed separately for inclusion on the data base.
