Title: Simultaneous determination by Knudsen effusion microcalorimetry of the vapour pressure and the enthalpy of sublimation of p- and m-nitroaniline
Abstract: A Calvet microcalorimeter was used for the simultaneous determination of the enthalpy of sublimation and of the vapour pressure under Knudsen conditions of p- and m-nitroaniline. The vapour pressure equations are, for p-nitroaniline:log10(p/atm)=(9.06±0.08)-(5118±33)T/K,(351to417K),and for m-nitroaniline:log10(p/atm)=(9.50±0.09)-(4890±30)T/K,(320to384K).The valuesΔHsub°(298.15K)=(24.1±0.3)kcalthmol-1,andΔHsub°(298.15K)=(23.1±0.3)kcalthmol-1,are proposed for the enthalpy of sublimation of p- and m-nitroaniline respectively.
