Title: The culture of communication and the communication of culture in the modern corporate environment
Abstract: The paper proposes a methodology for helping organisations steer through the flood of information generated by contemporary information technology. Opening with a discussion of patterns of inefficient communication behaviour in the workplace, it goes on to address changing notions of the right to receive and evaluate information, and how these ideas affect employee attitudes. After a debate on the ownership of any individual corporate culture and the means by which messages can most effectively be transmitted within a given organisation, the paper concludes with an outline of a methodology designed to create a culture of corporate communication that will support the company's business objectives even as those business objectives change.
