Title: Head and Neck Imaging, Fourth Edition, Volume One+Two, By Peter M. Som, Hugh D. Curtin, Mosby, 2003. 2322 pp.; 320 EURO, ISBN-No.: 0-323-00942-5
Abstract: The book which consists of two volumes has a new chapter formation compared with the previous editions—especially the third edition. The book is excellently organised, and the different chapters seem better to fit to each other than in the previous editions. The number of pages was increased by adding important facts and contents to the book as well as there are more contributors. In each chapter, the anatomic section was enlarged by adding new graphs and anatomic radiological images such as CT and MR images showing excellently the anatomic details. The quality of the images and graphs is very high. The images and descriptions of the variants and pathological findings has also been renewed. The text of the new edition is well to read and to understand, and the quality of the images and of the graphs is superb. The book is very well structured and can either be used by a resident or by an experienced radiologist performing head and neck radiology. The book is so well written that even very difficult questions to solve a radiological head and neck problem may be answered.
