Title: Calibration of a polymethylmethacrylate routine dosimetry system
Abstract: A polymethylmethacrylate routine dosimetry system was calibrated in a production gamma irradiator. This “in-situ” method of calibration took into account effects of environment on response of the dosimeters. Sets of Gammachrome dosimeters, whose useful range of measurement extends from 0.1 kGy to 3.0 kGy, were co-located with alanine reference standard dosimeters and irradiated in the gamma cell. A logarithmic function provided a good fit to the data. An overall uncertainty in the measurements of + 7.1% was within the expected range of uncertainty of the measurement system.
