Abstract: We present here a mean-value theorem that generalizes the Taylor-Lagrange formula. The result arises in a natural way when one studies the asymptotic behavior of the remainder term of the formula. As an application of our result, we derive several numerical schemes to approximate the solution to initial-valued first order differential equations
