Title: Chapter Ten. Contextual Transformations Minjung Theology Yesterday And Today
Abstract: This chapter shows how generations differ and how precisely ever-changing context affects them in their doing theology. Compared to two extremes of contextual theology in Asia-Indian theology which is rich in tradition and determined by its dialogue with Hinduism and Filipino theology which is strongly oriented towards Latin American liberation theology. Minjung theology was first synthesis between socio-economic, political and cultural-religious types of contextual theology in Asian context. In retrospect Hwang Hong-Eyoul sees ideological orientation as one of obstacles of second generation: the revival of Marxist ideology was a backdrop to formation of minjung church. Due to dynamics of socio-economic, political and cultural parameters question for Christus praesens has to be asked time and again by Christian theologians.
