Title: THE DETERMINATION OF TRACE ELEMENTS BY NEUTRON ACTIVATION ANALYSIS
Abstract: A method for the determination of trace elements in many types of materials is given. The samples are irradiated in a thermal neutron flux. Gamma spectrometry and BETA -counting with radiochemical separations are employed. The results indicate that the most important factor in the tests was the radiochemical purity of the chemically separated fractions. Nuclear reactions of the formation of radioisotopes, such as As/sup 7/, Nb/sup 95/, Nb/sup 97/, Tc/sup 97m/, Tc/sup 99 /, and Rh/sup 105/, from other elements are tabulated. Generally, the method gives an error of 10%. (P.C.H.)
