Abstract: The Content Validation Form is presented as a means for meeting the requirement of the Uniform Guidelines, Section 15 C 5, that, “The evidence demonstrating that the selection procedure is a representative work sample, a representative of a knowledge, skill, or ability as used as part of a work behavior and necessary for that behavior should be provided…” It is best used during the test construction process by SMEs working under the direction of a testing specialist who records their evaluations, and the rationale behind them, for each part of the test. If the test is challenged, their documented judgments can be used as evidence of validity. Although it is used primarily with multiple-choice tests, many parts of the Content Validation Form apply to other types of tests and exercises.
