Abstract: The study of agrammatism seeks to make connections between two bodies of knowledge: linguistic theory and brain theory. One approach to this research has been to try to characterize the patterns of sparing and loss in agrammatism in terms of linguistic theory and to consider how experimentation based on such characterizations can increase understanding, either about brains or about language. Preliminary efforts in this direction have been made in inquiry into both the comprehension and the production of agrammatic subjects.
