Title: Providing Access to the Library Collection:
Abstract: The first article in this series of three briefly outlined the methods that were used to develop and maintain the Library's catalogue and described the advantages and disadvantages of these methods. This second article describes the Library's effort to decrease its reliance on the UTLAS system while maintaining its high quality of cataloguing. The effects of the introduction of CD-ROM technology on the cataloguing environment will be presented and the capabilities and implementation of LaserOuest discussed. The cost implications of introducing automation to the library environment will also be addressed.
