Abstract: This chapter discusses the examples of open source licenses. In general public licenses (GPL), everyone is permitted to copy and distribute verbatim copies of this license document, however changes are not allowed. The licenses for most software designed, take away the freedom of sharing and making changes. By contrast, the GNU General Public Licencesis intended to guarantee freedom to share and change frees software, and to make sure the software is free for all its users. In Mozilla Public License, commercial use means distribution, or otherwise making the covered code available to a third party. Each entity that creates or contributes to the creation of Modifications is called “contributor”. Modifications mean addition to or deletion from the substance or structure of either the original code or any previous modifications. In BSD, in order to generate the owner's license, the values of “OWNER,” “ORGANIZATION,” and “YEAR” should be changed..
