Title: ANÁLISE DA RELAÇÃO ENTRE AGOSTINISMO E ESTOICISMO A PARTIR DE SUA TRIPARTIÇÃO DA FILOSOFIA
Abstract: This paper consists of an analysis about the connection between characteristics of the thought of Augustine of Hippo (354-430) and of the classic philosophical school known as Stoicism, using as parameter the approach Augustinian to the question of the Christian Trinity in relation to the division of the Stoic philosophy in logic, physics, and ethics, which is also found in other philosophical schools, for example, in Platonism. In this aspect, this research is an approach to comparative aims, because, although Augustine had agreed to the division of the philosophy into three parts, in the work City of God, the philosopher refers to Plato, not to the Stoics. Nevertheless, through this approach, it can be noticed in which aspects the Augustine's thought converges or diverges from the Stoic's thought.
