Abstract: SPICE is the most commonly used analog circuit simulator in the world. Today, many commercial extended versions of SPICE support new device models and extended functions. However, a failure to understand the inherent limitations of the simulation algorithms and model parameters can lead to design problems. This paper presents case histories showing the impact of simulation limitations and practical ways to work around them.
