Title: Contract Damages as a Substitute for Full Performance
Abstract: According to classical contract theory, money damages are supposed to put the non-breaching party in the same position as if the contract had not been breached. This is seldom the case, however, because several principles of contract law prevent damages from being the equivalent of full performance. This paper examines those doctrines and explains why they diminish damage recovery in many cases.
