Title: Adaptive control system for a field-oriented induction motor drive
Abstract: This paper presents the design and implementation of an adaptive controller for AC machines, which is very well suitable for high-performance industrial applications because of its features of: drive operation insensitive to machine parameters changes resulting in strict field-orientation under any operating conditions; no online explicit parameter identification required; easy control using only plant output information; and very good speed response. The controller includes an internal dynamic model found using the stochastic modeling technique. The functioning of a drive system using this particular controller is simulated by using the MATLAB program and finally, the effectiveness of the controller once proven, a hardware configuration is elaborated and suitable software is developed. Aiming at a low cost implementation, the entire control algorithm, including input and output control, is realized with only one microprocessor.
