Abstract: Selected for exhibition at The Russian Club Gallery, London. 1stApril – 8th May 2009. The prestigious gallery specialises in two person exhibitions of contemporary artwork by international artists.
Three original and unique artworks produced exclusively, including a large-scale (6 x 4m) wall-based (‘backdrop’) work and two sculptures. The exhibition was a development of Scenery [UWE research group] outputs and the exploration and application of interpretations of the term ‘scenery’ to the production and exhibition of contemporary art. The work involved an exploration of naming and picturing, as apparently separate or diverse and the uncomfortable space made in the moment after a pun has been made with monuments created to the particular embarrassment of making or hearing a pun.
