Title: La rationalisation en France et en Belgique dans les années 1930
Abstract: Comment les entreprises de deux économies voisines mais aux structures industrielles bien différentes se sont-elles réorganisées pour faire face à la grande crise, puis consolider leur redressement ? Après un bilan des acquis organisationnels à la fin des années 1920, une comparaison terme à terme des mesures de rationalisation adoptées et des réactions suscitées dans les rangs des travailleurs et de leurs organisations a montré de grandes similitudes. Elles touchent d'abord les choix organisationnels (taylorisation souvent restreinte à l'étude des temps, production de masse modulée selon la taille des entreprises et de leurs marchés, renforcement du contrôle de la production, etc. ) ; ces similitudes trouvent une partie de leur origine dans les échanges entre les cadres dirigeants des deux industries. En dépit d'un degré d'organisation des forces ouvrières supérieur en Belgique, les réactions syndicales à la rationalisation ont été comparables, par leur faiblesse, dans les deux pays ; les grèves de 1936 ne remettent pas en cause la rationalisation, qui prend au contraire un nouvel essor.
