Title: Visualisation on Demand for Agent-Based Simulation
Abstract: Agent-based simulation can be a useful tool when analysing complex systems such as real world scenarios. In multi-agent models when no quantitative data are available we have to search for new solutions in order to verify that the simulated model is appropriate with respect to the real one. Typical solutions approach the problem of missing data by considering contributions of human experts. In our work, we enhance the transparency of the simulation via a detailed visualisation in order to enable an immersive evaluation of the simulated model. We initially identify several conceptual and technical problems regarding the combination of a multi-agent simulation system with a game engine. We then propose a framework which implements a solution for generic processing and communication of information while maintaining consistency between the two systems. The end result automates several processes in a context independent manner and minimises the overall modeller’s effort.
