—Mycosis fungoides (MF) and Sézary syndrome (SS) are epidermotropic primary cutaneous lymphomas characterized by small or medium sized neoplastic T lymphocytes proliferation with cerebriform nuclei. MF clinical manifestations cover a broad spectrum that range from the classical type (Alibert-Bazin) to other clinical pathological variations, each with its own personality. SS is historically defined by the triad: erythroderma, lymphadenopathy and circulating atypical cells. In the majority of cases, the proliferating cell is the memory helper T cell. Diagnosis is fundamentally based upon the clinical pathological correlation. Prognosis depends mainly upon the extent and type of skin lesion and whether or not there is node, visceral or peripheral blood involvement. A varying percentage of MF/SS cases become large cell lymphomas. Treatment depends upon the stage of the disease.
