Title: A New Method of DIBR Based on Background Inpainting
Abstract: Depth image based rendering (DIBR) is key technology in stereo video system to generate virtual view image. Filling holes is a difficult task, especially to no views blending and wide baseline. This paper proposes a new method of DIBR which combines background estimation and image inpainting. Firstly, an effective division rule is presented to distinguish background and foreground in hole-areas, estimated background is used to fill the background holes. At last image inpainting is used to fill the remaining holes. Compared to other methods, our method can use real pixel of the scene to fill the background holes and improve virtual view quality greatly.
