Abstract: The forms, templates, handouts, and checklists in this chapter have been designed to help professional therapists establish a well-running office and manage its staff to give them the best care and services. Caring for the office staff and operating an office on a sound business model are key factors to a profitable and successful counseling practice. Samples forms for minutes of a meeting, evaluation of office staff, employee satisfaction survey, employee discipline, employee exit interview, and letter of reference, which help in managing the staff. Any action planned to disrupt and cause harm in the work environment, once identified, must be swiftly diffused, and turned over to those in higher levels of authority within the organization and local law enforcement. Signs to look out for employees capable of such action are given. The code of emergency, INA (I Need Assistance) is discussed. Ways to manage a depressed employee are provided followed by a discussion on leadership in today's world and workplace leadership, which branches into “domineering leadership” and “servant hood leadership.” A checklist of leadership skills and plan for its improvement in an organization is specified. Ways to face and deal with different kinds of crisis in a business are also explored.
