Title: The distribution of PCB congeners in bivalves, , introduced into the Otonabee River, Peterborough, Ontario
Abstract: Freshwater bivalves, (Elliptiocomplanata) introduced into the water column of a river system moderately contaminated with PCBs, accumulated the lowest concentrations of total PCBs at a site in the river previously shown to have the highest sediment PCB concentrations. PCB concentrations, and in particular, levels of hydrophilic PCB congeners, increased in bivalves at monitoring stations downstream of this site.
