Title: Near-infrared surface photometry of NGC 253
Abstract: A large field-of-view H (1.65 μm) image of NGC 253 is presented and the galaxy's large scale infrared morphology and surface brightness profile are discussed. An iterative least-squares fit to the surface brightness profile gives the exponential disk and the r 1/4 bulge parameters. The existence of a barred morphology not apparent at optical wavelengths is confirmed and it is found that the derived disk scale length at H is slightly less than at B
