Title: Resolved Stellar Populations as Test for SPSM: SBF versus integrated magnitudes
Abstract: We present a detailed study on performances of the Surface Brightness Fluctuations (SBF) technique as a population tracer, by testing SBF predictions on resolved simple stellar systems. We compare the potentiality of the SBF method against classical tools, as integrated magnitudes and color‐magnitude diagrams, typically used for unresolved and resolved stellar populations, respectively. We connect the latter diagnostic instruments to SBF, identifying the limits and the power of the SBF method.
