Title: A simulation study of magnetic reconnection in a multiple current sheet system
Abstract: MHD Kelvin-Helmholtz instability is responsible for the development of magnetic reconnection in a multiple current sheet system. It is suggested that if there is magnetic reconnection in the high latitude boundary layer while the interplanetary magnetic field (IMF) is northward, the reconnection can influence the plasma sheet in the magnetotail, and induce magnetic reconnection in it.
