Title: Non-Linear Relationships in SEM with Latent Variables: Some Theoretical Remarks and a Case Study
Abstract: The object of the work is to take into account non-linear relationships in path analysis models with latent variables. Some theoretical remarks are made to introduce the context where the presence of non-linearity is to be considered with reference to both the inner and the outer model. Diagnostic tools to test the existence of a non-linear relationship are also presented, mainly with reference to the so-called Kano model. In particular, a procedure based upon the regression of the response variable, with respect to properly defined dummy variables, is considered. An application to data coming from a survey on the customers of a financial organization is finally presented.
