Title: Male‐to‐female trans person ( <scp>MtF</scp> )
Abstract: Male‐to‐Female (MtF) is a term used to describe the vector or direction of change of a transsexual or other transgendered person who is moving or wishing to move from a male body and gender role to (or towards) a female body and gender role. Male‐to‐female also refers to a person born with a male body who identifies as a woman and moves toward a social role as a woman. Those who choose to transition gender roles require access to medical services to obtain hormones and surgeries; this access is regulated by Standards of Care published by the World Professional Association for Transgender Health. Male‐to‐female people suffer from discrimination and identity‐based sexual and physical attacks. Those with low incomes, those who do sex work, and people of color are at increased risk of being attacked.
