Title: Clinical Outcomes and 30-Day Mortality Following Significant Upper Gastrointestinal Bleeding in Users of Anti-Platelet Agents and Non-Steroidal Anti-Inflammatory Drugs
Abstract: elicit any significant difference in the esophageal motor pattern. At the second month, after 4 weeks of clebopride, the amplitude of esophageal motor waves resulted significantly increased as compared to basal (40.3±6.5 vs 26.4±5.4mmHg, mean±SEM, p<0,01); there was a significant improvement in the percentage of peristaltic transmission, resulted 60%±15% vs 25%±10%, mean±SEM, p<0,01).The LES basal tone showed a light, but significant increase as compared to basal conditions (8.1±2.5 mmHg vs 4.2±2.8,mean±SEM, p<0,05).All the patients referred a clinical improvement of dysphagia during the second month. No significant side effects were reported during the study period.Summary and Conclusions: the administration of clebopride determines in the mid-term a significant improvement in the esophageal motor pattern detected at HRM in patients affected by ineffective motility.Whether this effect is maintained over the time and can be useful in the management of such patients needs to be elucidated.
