Abstract: The treatment of pediatric psoriasis can be a challenge even for experienced dermatologists. Psoriasis is a chronic disease that often requires life-long treatment, and may show a more severe course when starting already in childhood. Therefore, besides the mere choice of treatment special counseling of patients and parents, it is important to provide support for those coping with the disease and prevent potential complications. Nowadays, many treatment options are available for adult patients with psoriasis, but data regarding the use in children are rare and mainly based on case reports or small case series. The lack of data implies missing licensure for most therapeutic options as well as a lack of official guidelines, and thus often leaves the treatment decision to the treating physician. To support the individual therapeutic decision, the currently available data about topical and systemic treatments for pediatric psoriasis have been reviewed in this chapter, including two recently published expert consensus recommendations.
