Title: Monte Carlo Simulations of the Kinematics and Luminosity Function of White Dwarfs
Abstract: White dwarf stars are long-lived and well studied objects. Therefore, the white dwarf luminosity function when combined with the kinematical data of white dwarfs in the solar neighborhood can provide useful information about the past history of the local neighborhood. In this work we present the results of Monte Carlo simulations of the kinematics and luminosity function of white dwarfs and compare them with observational results.
