Title: Managing Business Risk in Electronic Commerce
Abstract: After a brief introduction to risk, risk analysis and risk management, this paper examines four categories of business risk in e-commerce–competitive risk, transition risk, customer-induced risk and business partner risk. These risks are defined and illustrated with examples. In the concluding section, solutions for managing these risks are proposed. Not surprisingly, many of the solutions for managing business risk in e-commerce–such as effective change management, generating consumer trust, asking the right questions–are similar to those in non-electronic commerce.
