Abstract: A field investigation was conducted during summer 1992 to evolve a suitable weed control method for irrigated soYbean raised under sandy clay loam soil. The results revealed that, among the different treatments hand weeding twice on 15 and 30 DAS, and pendimethalin 0.75 kg ha−1 with one hand weeding on 30 DAS, were effective in the control of weeds and-it sefficiency. These treatments also reduced weed dry matter production, with increased growth characters, yield attributes and yield. Highest yield and net return was observed in pendimethalin 0.75 kg ha−1 with hand weeding 30 DAS (1436 kg ha−1), which was followed by hand weeding twice on 15 and 30 DAS (1415 kg ha−1).
